He was shot in the area I'm moving to. He wasn't shotat night but people are probably jealous because he got the buck and jealous that he had access to the land. The buck was on the cover of North American Hunter and there was just a right up in the Philadelphia Inquirer. He donated the meat and it made 400 meals for the needy. Maybe that's where the number 400 came from. Still a ton of meat. He'd seen the deer since 2001 when it was a 10 pointer and he shot it last November.

There's also trail cam pictures of him when he's in velvet in the news paper article. I'd say he went about 250lbs.

There also was an article in the local paper. You can search for it at mcall.com . Beautiful buck by the way...both of them. I wonder how many of that caliber will be taken this season.

The PA Xbow buck is actually featured in the new issue of NORTH AMERICAN WHITETAIL and in fact the buck is even featured on the cover! Glad to see so PA management is starting to work well and he mentions it in his article. Better pick up the July issue

Yo Bear, was there ever a measurement on that buck?

I never did hear of a measurement on the buck. I'll check with my friend to see if he can find out. If anyone else may know I'd love to hear it.

Yeah it was in North American Whitetail. I think I remember reading that this buck was shot at about 3 or 4 different times by a few hunters. I'm suprised that it was even killed after having so many run-in's with hunters.

It is funny you should say that because I know of several folks who would argue to the contrary. There argument usually focuses around the suspected age of the buck and length of time that PA's new deer management plan has been in effect.
