Digital Leaf River Vs. Film Deer Cam
I have had a DC-100 Deer Cam for the past couple of years and it has really taken some nice pictures. However, because of the pain of developing film and having to scan the pictures to put them on my computer, I have been considering buying a Leaf River DC-2. I was wondering if anyone here has had a Deer Cam DC-100 AND a Leaf River DC-2. If anyone has had both, would you please tell me how you think they compare and was the change worth it. I do not know much about the quality of the pictures, how well the flash works/up to what distance, how do the pictures look when printed, ect. Also, if anyone has any comments about the Leaf River DC-2 or has any sample pictures (mainly night time pics) any help would be wonderful. Thanks for all the help.

I have a old Dc-100 and it has worked great for years, and then I got me a fancy digital one, WOW there is not any comparison, so much simpler and fast, the one I use is made with a D380 and I can take the camera out and use it alone or in the deer cam box, it also has a small lcd screen to veiw the pics one... Digital it the way to go bro...

I have both and like my Leaf River alot better. Over the past couple of weeks I've been getting 85-250 pictures in one week. Now granted alot of these pics are of the same deer but I haven't paid a cent to develop them. I download them to my computer and save 10-20 from each week. The only thing I don't like about the digital is the speed of it. It is hard to set up on a trail because of the warm up time. It has to be a perfect set up to get deer coming down a trail. I still will use my DC-100 closer to the season so I can find out what trails the deer are using. I have the digital set up on a mineral lick and corn feed and have only had 2 or 3 blank pics. Go for the digital but hang on to your 35ml.
Here are a couple pics.

I have a few Deer Cams and a couple of Leaf River digis. The LR units are awesome and I only wish I had them years ago! Super simple set-up and controls and an excellent image quality! You'll love your LR.

No doubt, digital is the way to go!
I have tested five digital scouting cameras and the Leaf River is the slowest so far. There are much better units out there for picture quality and power up time. Those with a real digital camera in them take much better pictures. Picture print quality will, of course, make a big difference in the printed picture quality.
