I am taking the plundge into buying a better camcorder to film my hunts. What do you guys think is the best camera out there to purchase under 5K. I plan on getting some footage to mail in this season for your newest section on the your show entitled "WKP Home Videos". Bet you didnt know you were even coming out with that!!! Anyhow, since you guys have played around with diff cams I am looking for some insite, before committing to a purchase. Thanks in advance.

Here is the way you need to look at it. Outside of a camera, the goodies list is long. Here is what you will need to take good footage, year-around.
Camera Head / Tripod - $300.00
Zoom Controller - $190.00
Wireless Mic's - $550.00
Camera Arm - $200.00
Waterproof Cover - $80.00
Before you have even looked at a camera, I just spent $1,320.00 for you. For a camera, I think the Sony PD-170 is the best deal going. It takes beautiful footage, takes a beating, and you can pick them up used these days very reasonably. They've been going for around$1,800.00 used, with lot's of goodies. Everyone is jumping to HD, but we're years away from committing. Too many team members who aren't able to take that plunge, so I'm not going to force it.

Todd, I like the way you are spending my hard earned money!!! I am getting out of professional bass fishing, so I will have alot more time and money to dedicate to my bowhunting. I hope to make it out your way a few times a year now. I will take Stickbows advice on the camera for this season and get one. I should put together some decent footage this season. Also, if you guys have any camera stuff you are looking to sell, drop me a line. Later boys.
