RE: Anybody want to hunt Ohio?
Thanks guys. When I saw the pictures and at first glance, I thought I was looking at a Mule deer when I saw that big tall 10 pointer. I was pleasantly surprised at getting these pic's yesterday. I'm just trying to show people that we have some giants here in Ohio, it's an overlooked state and tags are over the counter. Everybody wants to go to IL/IA (I do too) but it's obvious that I need to spend more time here and I need to book more clients for my leases. I'll have more pic's in a few weeks when I go back to retrieve my better quality Cuddeback cameras. Glad you liked these.

Yes, they are definitely cheaper than Illinois. Honestly, I've had a slow go at booking clients for Ohio which means I cant do a lot of full season leases and hope I get clients, because I will loose big money. The approach I've taken is to pay the farmer on a "per hunter/per week" basis which works out best for both of us. I only pay when and if I get a client. There are huge possibilities for us in Ohio but I need that client base to get more stable fornext year. This year, I'm using several farms (65 ac, 101 ac, & a 400 ac tract) for my guys but I've already walked another 50, 85, 392, 485 acre tracts and they all look great. In addition I'vefound a great big farmhouse to use (maybe a future WKP lodge) and another big house that rivals a Bass Pro lodge. I get more impressed with Ohio the more I look into things.

Where in Ohio are you at? I will be hunting a couple of farms in the Zanesville area this year and can't wait. I let a friend hunt these last year because I couldn't make it there and they saw 5 shooters in one weekend, one in the 160's.
