Here's an email I received today, if you can spread this around to drum up some support, we as sportsmen and gun owners need to band together no matter where we live.

Any one who cares about shooting in Pierce county needs to respond to this. Feel free to pass it on to any other interested parties.

"We need letters, phone calls, or attended this hearing. If this passes there will be more shotgun areas in the future instead of outright bans."

Subject: Pierce County

In April of 2003 Pierce County Council created a no shooting zone on the outskirts of the city of Roy which is Rural and has been hunted for decades. A lot of the land borders Ft. Lewis impact area (War games area)
On July 27, 2004 at 10:00am the Public Safety Committee will be hearing a proposed ordnance to reverse ordnance 2002-127 in a different capacity. A council member is trying to open up certain areas to shotgun only for the first time in Pierce Counties history. The past practice means all firearms are banned when they create a no shooting area.
Having a shotgun area were a high-power rifle is too dangerous still lets people hunt big game and small game like they do in the mid-west and on the east-coast.
Pierce County Sheriff’s department is against this saying it would be difficult to enforce.
This was originally brought forward by some individuals that said they were being mowed down with bullets in their driveways. It was all untrue, no citations or any other documents to support it, but they won last year.
By law these citizens have to be notified of the proposed change.
We need letters, phone calls, or attended this hearing. If this passes there will be more shotgun areas in the future instead of outright bans.
For more info contact Leslie Swalley at Pierce County Council District #6 253-798-3308.
