Wyoming hunting trip
Looking into a hunting trip to Wyoming this year. Thinking maybe an antelope/deer combo hunt. I have not been out to Wyoming hunting before so would appreciate any info you guys could give me. I have been checking out the BLM maps and have looked at area D and K on the deer application maps. They are just north of Colorado and Utah. I was wondering if anyone was familar with these areas? If not I would be open to any other areas with good deer hunting on public ground. I hope to establish some private ground contacts in the future even if you have to pay a fee, but since I am getting started late with my research I will prob. have to stick to public this year. Thanks in advance. SW Iowa Hunter

RE: Wyoming hunting trip
SW, Are you interested in a hunting partner? I am applying for WY region D rifle this year. I have not hunted unit D previously, but have done a lot of research. In 4 previous attempts I've applied for region G without success. D should be 50/50 or better odds. I've hunted in over 10 states so heading into a new area is not new to me. 80% of my hunting has been archery but I hurt my shoulder this winter. Hunted in Appanoose County twice. Was just going to put a post on here this morning when I read your inquiry.
