Snowed today and yesterday, hopefully it doesn't do that tommorow for you guys!

I live in Spokane but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to attend.

Well....it did'nt rain or snow on us.....but was freezing cold out...plus that 20+mph wind did'nt help.....But.....was worth while going to....met some fine folk's....learned alot, and got some great trainning tip's..

You should have stuck around another 30 minutes.
Ran Casey in another (very cool) series just after you left. Similar triples and blind as the first series he ran in, then the triple birds were launched and then there was an "in your face" launch of two birds (15 yards right out in front of the line, with a shotgun blast instead of a blank -- BIG TIME breaking test) and there was an 'honor dog', 10 yards to your right side. The honor dog was then allowed to retrieve othe first of the "in your face" birds -- then the running dog was allowed to pick up the second one -- then run the triple - on the return of the long mark (the one to the left), a diversion bird was thrown (no gun shot) right in front of the dog when the dog was on his way back in, and on the return of the shorter mark (the one out in front), another bird was launched (another shotgun blast) just as the dog was half way to you. Then the dog that just finished running became the honor dog, and the series was run for the next dog. WHEW ! Although those extremely complex tests are a little nerve racking, they are really fun (especially if your dog nails it)

The Spokane Dog folks are a great bunch of people, with an amazing amount of knowledge, and what really makes it nice is that they are more than willing to help people out and give training advice.

Dang Doc....that musta been tough...just to remember what to do next...never been in a real life hunting scenario quite like that before [8D]. I'm a little concerned about using the constant on the coller with Shooter on that situation he had yesterday....since he's not real familar with alot of feather's in his mouth....wounder if on that long retrive...where he first had trouble finding....then when he did....picked it up...then left it....if I shoulda just done some shorter one's....where he has no trouble....then extenting the range....plus maybe I shoulda walked up to the bird...done the typical FF...tossed it a couple short throw's to retrive.....then gone back to the long one to try again..???...What ya think..??.....

Dang man, you're starting to think like a real dog trainer now Excellent analysis

We'll work on it next Sunday------Until then, don't worry (or work) about it. I'll bring birds.

As far as a "real hunting scenario", Yup, I've seen it before (more than once) []

Also, on Sunday the 21st, I thnk we should meet up at the Chewelah Casino -- I trained Casey down there today -- They got some excellent grounds and water as well and I got permission to use their land for dog training

Doc.....I'm gonna get Shooter sniped next Saturday [the 20th]....so we'll be there this Sunday for trainning....and then will have to wait till the trainning day at the Casino..

I think you've made the right choice --- Although Shooter may not think that Dr. Rowe is his friend anymore. []

One thing to remember, is that even after he is snipped, it will take around 90 days for the "male hormones" to be eliminated from his system.

Doc...I already took the heat off of myself...and told Shooter it was all totaly "YOUR" idea..[8D]....Kinda figured it might take awhile before we'd really notice a change.
