For free you can target shoot in the National Forest and Pawnee Grasslands (with some restrictions so go to www.fs.fed.gov to look up the forest where you want to go for any restrictions). If you need to have a shooting bench then the only free ones I know of is a small one just outside of Walden, and a big one just west of Hot Sulphur Springs.

Default Thanks Orion/CO

For getting me in the right direction. Simple questions, without really knowing it, can be a little too complicated.

We have one between Salida and Buena Vista.

Three pistol ranges, one sight in range, one clay target range, and a rifle range with targets from 100 to 500yds.

Open 24/7, and it's free.

What is the name of this range? I really need to get out and sight in my rifles.

Chaffee County Shooting Range. Pretty long drive for you. Lots of ranges closer.

Yeah Most of the ones close to Denver that actually have 100 yard ranges are membership only and the ones that dont charge $20 per hour to use a lane, if I am going to waste $20 anyway I would rather spend it on gas and take a trip. Any chance I can take to get out if this worthless city I will take it.

Colorado DOW has a list on it's web site. Many of the private clubs offer free hunter sight in. Some have people there to help you and are very knowledgeable. Helped me a lot when I first started hunting.
