Sounds great the you got some rain today! We didn' t get any here whereI' m at, but south of us they did-any,anywhere is good! We had a little suburban fire in Carnation yesterday, and so we got no other fire news after that, 3 hours of live helicopter coverage, but at 10 it was like they forgot all about it-big fire in downtown Seattle-drop everything!
Hopefully you DO get more rain tomorrow! Ireally don' t want to see DNR or USFS close the woods during any hunting season-rather see them move them back as much as necessary.
Hey, did you ever get logged in to earthobservatory at nasa? They have an update today, and it' s a great image-but you need to go to large fires in western Canada. Idn' t know how to put the link in here[>:],so if you want send me an email and I' ll put the link in that! Have a GREAT weekend S. dawg[:-]

Just got back from the fire camp...[a little sunday over time ]. They said that in a couple of day' s they' d cut the inmate fire crew loose. and that after that hope to have the fire crew down to 100 personel. They figure another week. Did' nt say % of containment, but that they were getting a better handle on it. Their biggest problem has been the wind.

Thanks for the update WAYNE1!!
I' ve been keeping my eye on satelite imagery to get clues about size, hints on wind direction, and location. what you say sounds encouraging if the Wind will just co-operate.
CNF website has a map posted showing the fire area on a grid,so I got out my Sherman GMU and see that we have been up Little Boulder a few times in to the burn area. Thick stuff up there in some places as I remember.
Lets all be thankful we dont have the[:' (] horrendous[>:] problems they are having in Kekowna BC [:' (]as of late AND that we don' t get them. Sure looks like an awful situation up there!
If you haven' t been to the earthobservatory nasa site yet the images of these fires are very impressive- Go to fires in western Canada, and Togo is in same image.
Oh yeah there' s another CNF meeting in Newport 8-28 6Pm if your interested.
Keep us informedif you can.
S. daWG...........1 more week ' till football! The true indicator of falls arrival!
