I've been drawn for a archery tag in unit 13a, anyone have any pointers or info to pass along. I'm going over maps and trying to get a hold of someone at the BLM......

I'm almost certain this unit is in the middle of nowhere, and a tough area to hunt, though its an amazing area to hunt!

From what I've read, is some guys will go days without even seeing a deer. So hiring a guide/scout may be somethign to consider, that and putting in your days, and not getting frustrated when you don't see monsters all over, they're there.

Good Luck, I'd schedule some time so you can get more than just a few days to hunt it. Keep high hopes throughout the hunt, that monster could appear for a breif moment and then be gone, so keeping the hopes up and being ready every moment could pay big dividends.

I talked to my buddy who lives in AZ, he told me that this is the year to draw a AZ deer tag! lots of rain this spring, I only got a pref.pt, so luck may be on your side.

KDOG im jim and i'm from arizona how can i help ? i also drew that same tag 13A - try to stay down by mt trumbull (not the mt trumbull along 13B ) but the one inside 13A and south to the next mountain , stay close to water ! go to mapquest.com and type in mt trumbull then scroll down to the map and click on arial map in the upper right hand corner of the map - you can then move the scroller around and find waterholes then once you found one you simply click on zoom to your left on same page and see if it does have watwer in it .

jim

p.s GOD bless
