RE: CRAIG CO ELK
Ive hunted around Craig alot for Elk, tons of elk. Unless the weather plays a bad hand messing things up you should be able to find elk with out much of a problem. Lots of numbers ofelk, overall quality is fair at best. Not saying theres no big bulls as Ive seen a few good ones, mostly rags or small 5 and 6 points.

RE: CRAIG CO ELK
Have hunted Maybell 11 yrs. straight,30 miles west of Craig, 2nd season, primarily cuz that,s our first rifle seasonfer deer. We,re in units 3 and 301. Ya have a few elk (locals) and the rest are up high. The deer have been runnin rampant there at that time of year, fer the last 5 yrs or so, though!Yer better off waitin and goin 3rd or 4th if ya are huntin elk. They winter in Maybell, but, you have to get em pushed down and that doesn,t happen until the snows really fly and it gets cold. We,ll be camped just North of Maybell 2nd rifle this fall so if ya got any more questions or just wanna stop by let me know.We drew late tags this year (December Cows only) and took 4 in a day and a half. 13 deer out of seven hunters last October there!Would add a pic but bein new to this site I haven,t figgered out how yet!
