I called in a couple of small bulls on Saturday. I'm hoping the rut starts to KICK into high gear this week.

I'm up in washington and they aren't really rutting yet. A few are but most are still pretty quiet. I got in on a couple the other day that were just going off with each other, I didn't even hafta bugle to them. They were in country thats damn near impossible to get into, makes it good for me since I'm an athletic 19 year old, I should be the only one hunting these bad boys

Took a mule deer outside of Curlew Washington and called in some Bulls on the west side Rainier area.
Good hunting and good luck.

Saw a HUGE 7x7.. probably in the 360 inch range at 5:06 this morning.. 44 minutes to early.. HE was GORGEOUS.. HE wasn't rutting and I tried to cow call him in then I moved and acted like a bull raking tree's nothing worked.. Next week he should be in the rut and he might be mine.. He was absolutely stunning.. the biggest elk I've seen!

Did you get a shot off? That sounds like a chance of a life time.

haha I saw him in my headlights, no shot then I hunted him until noon trying to find him.. looked all over and found nothing.. A lot of elk sign in the area though so hopefully he will stick around.. Definitely the chance of the life time. I think he would have been the biggest bull pulled out of this area in quite a while.. I have nightmares about him. I've still got a week and a day of hunting and I've still only heard two bulls bugling, I have no idea whats up.. They should be starting this weekend though

[/align]today was my opener, cow tag, and saw everything BUT a cow elk (go figure). I've lived in AZ for 2 years and hadn't seen an antelope here, until today. Saw a nice 6x6 bull elk, coyote, and a 3x3 mulie and 2 doe, all within bow range. Still pretty warm (80-83), so maybe it will cool off a little over the next couple weeks. Absolutely no response to cow calls. See how it goes tuesday.

Sounds like a successful day too. I have wanted to go bow hunting since moving to Co. Just can't find someone to help out a bit. I think next year for sure.

Sounds great! Everyone is seeing Elk. I was out yesterday in the same area I called in a 7+6 bull with no shot. Seen alot of Blacktail deer but no Elk. I'm starting to over hunt the area and it's time to move on.
