Default Montana Elk Permit

Got my elk permit today from FWP. Antlerless in district 380-00. Never hunted this area and I'm lookin foward to rifle season.

How did the rest of you guys from MT. do?

380-00 has a lot of hunters in it but it is also an enormous area with a lot of big elk in it. Its part of the "Elk Horn" mountain range. How can you go wrong with that. Good luck to you.

I will be going on my first elk hunt in area 392 thisyear.

Elkhorns. Get ready to close your eyes so you won't be tempted to shoot one of the big boysin there. i think it may be general tag on spikes (no spikes in there).

I can't go elk hunting this year and it's killing me. I'll have to live vicariously through some of you guys--so we need a lot more description and chatter.

This will be my first year elk hunting also. I knew I didn't have much of a chance drawing a bull permit, so I applied for an antlerless tag. I'm just excited about gettin out there this year.
Good luck to you also in 392.

Man, your right about that! Even though I'll be hunting "baldys", I'm going to be taking my camera along also. Maybe I can"shoot"a big boy that way.

Sorry about your bad luck this year. I know how you feel.
Yep, I'll keep you posted.
