Default calling

i got a new goose call a couple weeks ago. Not sure how to get the right sounds out. How did you guys learn.

the way i started learning was buying a bunch of goose calling videos and going to contests to here other guys blowing goose calls then i bought a tape and practiced every day

watch real geese and see how they call and react when other geese come in. Videos and tapes are also good.

I just bought Honkey Talk, I think it is a great video..the guy on there explains how to do calls very well

What call do you have? A good quality call makes a big difference in the tones and sounds you can produce. The vid, Honker Talk by Shawn Stahl is one of the best instructional aids around, well worth the $20.00

may be a good idea to mention if it is a short reed or a flute .... in order to get the diff pitches on a flute ya have to use back pressure with ya hand to make the call "break" ....cuppin ya hand over the end of the flute will do this .... with the shortreed ..... ya use ya air pressure and hands to do this
