Default How did the Early goose opener fair for everybody...

Other then the blistering hot weather in MI it wasn't to bad of hunting. The geese were not quite as plentiful as last years opener but we managed 37 and 1 band in three mornings of hunting. We did have to pay our dues! This weather makes it hard to hunt in...

Around here we've pretty much quit goose hunting because of a lack of birds and that use to be about all we hunted. I sat on the deck opening morning (I live about a quarter mile from a lake) and never heard the first shot. Now that afternoon was a different story with the doves.

Well I made the decision to boogey south into indiana with some hopes of getting into some teal and honkers. No teal but we popped 17 geese on opener and 7 on day 2 with a bonus 2 bands for my good buddy Adamfor a good trip!
