Default Goose Decoys

Just gearing up for goose season. Wanted to know if anyone had any used goose decoys for sale or any thoughts on a good goose spread.

When watching goose hunting on TV I notice those guys putting out hundreds of decoys, is this really necessary?

I started killing birds hunting over a spread of 5 decoys....we now have around 100 for a spread and I do not feel that more would truely be better, there are times that we run a dozen or 3...if you had three dozen full bodies and mag shells you should be fine for any hunting... As far as used dekes look at garage sales, ebay, etc....plus watch end of season sales!

Here in Wisconsin, 2 or 3 dozen full bodies will get the job done, add a few shells in there, maybe a few sillouettes around the blinds.

Well it depends on where you hunt as to how many decoys you need. I only use 1 to 2 dozen. Also this goes w/out saying but the more you put out the more you have to pick up

Last season a local guy from west SK told he used to set out a bunch of decoys, but had just as good if not better luck with only 5-6 decoys out as the season wore on.

it matters on how big of flocks you are calling in. 200 geese aren't going to land into a half-dozen decoys or even two dozen unless you are handy w/ the short-reed. most of the time 2-3 dozen will get the job done... the full bodies help alot too... they can see these much farther than a shell decoy.
