The eastern part of the state is really good for sage grouse. It has prime habitat for them. I can' t really give you an exact location but many of the FWP producation areas are filled with them. The season here is also closed, but it usually opens up in mid September

J D, A few years ago I had the opportunity to hunt Sage Grouse, Huns, and Sharptails on the Fort Peck Reservation. We were put into plenty of birds in what was not a very good season.Contact Chuck Garfield @ 406 392-5543. I don' t know if he will remember me or not, but you can tell him that Michael Stevens from Bonners Ferry, Idaho recomended you
Good Luck,
Michael
