Only thing I can tell you is to make sure you have extra/spare batteries for the thing.

I just bought a new Tru Glow 2X ... I put it on my Remmington 870 ...had it laser bore sited and it shoots a KILLER pattern at 55 yards with a 3.5... 5 shot ... I have not had the chance to use it on a turkey yet but will before the season is over ..

If the battery goes, it is such a low mounted scope I think you would be able to shoot open sights because you can see the True Glo sights thru the scope. I haven't ry it but I will to see where it hits. But you're right I will have a spare battery on hand.

I got the help/tip here on this site to get a top mounting scope base. This elevated the red dot scope just enough so I could see below it and above the mounting base which allowed me to see my true glow sites. Came in handy when the batteries went dead.
