Possible....yes, the pellets in a .410 can be loaded for the same speed as larger gauges, but with the small amount of pellets, very close shots are recommended. I've read that turkey hunters out for the .410 challenge try to get the gobblers into ranges of 15-25 yds.

I have shot squirrels(spelling) with mine and 20 yards is the max!!!!! So for turkeys I would have to say 15 yards. I would definetly recomend patterning with a turkey target to find out how it patterns at 15-20 yards!!!!!!
To be honest with ya I cant see why anyone would want to try with a .410... If you want a challenge try a bow or public land

My huntin partners son is a nine year old, eight last year and the last 2 seasons we take him when we have a good opportunity to harvest a bird.I mean a bird we have put to bed or patterned! We do this so we dont have to drag the little guy all over the woods. He shoots a little side by side 4-10 and over the last 2 seasons has harvested 4 birds without missing. All birds were shot within 25 yards.....
