Try going to http://www.callkits.com
I have made several strikers using their materials. They are good to deal with.
They also offer a wide variety of woods.

Dearslayer, what kinds of woods have you tried for making strikers? Are you doing dowel-style strikers? Or one-piece strikers?
Here are a couple examples of what I make:
They are made from Redheart, Pink Ivory, Osage Orange, Cocobolo, Ebony, and Bocote.

pretty cool strikers i made one at work one time i was just sitting around and i had a piece if 3/4" redoak quarter round and i was carving on it nd thought "hey i could make a striker out of this" so i just tried it to pass osme time and it actually works really well it works better on my power crystal then my slate though but its a 1 piece and you can still tell what it use to be its far from fancy but i thought it was kinda neat that i finally made something that works

I've made strikers for years, I have found that latheing down a solid peice is a better idea. Balance and size will make a difference , as will the different kinds of woods. Tip style aslo can make a difference in the use of the striker. The mushroom tip seems to work the best, as it will work a surface smoother then a round tip.
