Well they ain't stopped gobblin yet!
Was in northern central Nebraska - saw a bit of struttin and heard morning gobbles.
The neatest thing was even though I forgot all my turkey calls - I used a ball point pen bottom as a mock wingbone call and had this big ole bad boy just yakkin' his fool head off. Called him within 10 paces of where I sat in my blaze orange dog judging clothes.....hehe
Made my day for sure! Oh was a Merriam with about a 11 inch beard and had over 1 inch spurs. Was a dandy.....mebbe I'll go after him next year!

Actually LB was a totally new area for me!
Never hunted there but would like to. Saw a group of 2 goods toms and then 2 seperate singles. The last being the best.
Fun was that pen bottom as a call. hehe
Have never shot a Meriam...

Seen one struttin' and gobblin' yesterday here in western PA. He sure was a big one...thought maybe it was an emu! Wish I had my camera...
Haven't seen any nesting birds or poults yet...
