Even Turkeys Have bad things happen - Check this out!
I got this clip from the Wisconsin Outdoors Magazine.
I don't hunt all that far from this area.
Article,
A wild turkey in a tree is nothing new, but when a trukey is hanging from a tree, it gets your attention. Ben Podolak of Baraboo, WI. an amature nature photographer, was drving home in alte March when he spotted this unusual sight -- a Gobbler caught by the neck , lodged between a spilt branch.
"Something didn't look right," Podolak said, "I saw something in this tree. When I stopped, I saw a turkey hanging by its neck. I have never seen anything like it in years I have spent in the outdoors."
The tree was located 1/4 mile from the south shore of Devils lake, 50 yards from thr road. Podolak estimated the gobbler hung 30 feet off the ground.
"When I first saw it, there where 5 turkey bultures circling it,: he said.
The bird remained in its wooden noose for about 10 days. How it became lodged is a mystery. "I know it was real windy the previous week, but I don't know what could have caused it to get stuck there," Podolak said.

Close-ups I expanded.

It looks to me as the bird was Flying Up or Down and misjudged the branch, with the V in it, the bird has fell into the No return point. As Most have heard in the wild , turkeys roost in thick areas and when they flydown they can make some racket when hitting branches. Sure was a nice bird...BT

Thats a bad way to go right there,,
I saw a video similiar to that about a deer that had done the same thing, seems he tried to jump off a cliff or hill and ended up in the fork of a tree about 30 ft from the ground, Rescuers got him out but he died later on.
Mother Nature works in strange ways, She could have just passed em in front of by Pea Shooter if he had to go.
