RE: late season tactics
I will give you a secret of mine although it won't be a secret after this. I know that poults have already been born here in PA and that they are being taken to the fields by thier mothers. I had set up in a field last friday the 21st. I couldn't buy a response til I used the gobble tube. It called the hens into the field and the gobbler followed. Once he was in the field I gobbled to him again and he came right to the decoy that was placed 14 yards from where we wer set up. I only put out one hen and one jake decoy. The only thing I can tell you is just be careful using a gobble tube. Try to make sure there isn't any other hunters around that may come to that. Hope this helps, Good luck.

I've never thought of there being poults hatched out during spring turkey season. If this is common in your area, I wonder if a lost poult call, a kee-kee whistle, might draw in a hen and with her, a tom.
Otherwise, whether early or late season, to me the secret is location, location, location. Roost 'em, be there at flydown, listen, listen, listen.
Also, if you know patterns, take advantage. A landowner once told me that "every day, those birds are out in that field at 8:30 in the morning." Guess where I was at 8:30 the next morning??
