PA. Opening Morning
Well one of the gang members watched this bird roost on the side of a mountain at the edge of public grounds. He made a phone call and Scrapper and I were off early for the walk back in, as a guess of where the bird made roosted , we sat at a spot and had a smoke and waited out first light and gobble.
Well low and behold , the bird was roosted about 45-50 yards straight in front of us, so we slowly moved back and setup. The bird gobbled about 50 times and we sat still and waited him out. I had a feeling that he was going to land not far out from the seup ,as being roosted on the side of a mountain , he's going to fly into the hill side to land.
Well did I call that right , I could see him getting ready to pitch out so I was sitting ready to grab the gun form my lap as soon as he did. He came off the branch at 6:01 am and glide right into my range just over the edge from me, I fastly lifted the gun and pointed it and yelped a total of 4 times and Up came the head. The bird was died at 6:02 .
Too be honest that is the fastest Turkey hunt I have ever had....BT
