May?
I usually hunt turkeys the third week in April, but this year, because of college, I had to apply for the hunting from the 12th of May until the 17th. Will I have to change tactics at all for the later season? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

RE: May?
It's going to depend on how hard the area your going to be hunting in,has already been hunted.Since your going to hunting in the 6th time period,You may want to tone down your calling, and not call as much if you are hunting on public lands. If you are going to be hunting on private land where the birds haven't been hunted hard,I'd hunt the same way as in later April. If the leaves are starting to pop,as they could be by then, what with this wimpy winter we're getting this year, you may want to pick up your calling a little as the leaves will have a tendencie to block the range the birds can hear.

Well i would think so for one thing all the dumb 2 year old birds will have been takin. Leaving you with weary call shy 3 year old gobblers.... Which is what i mostly kill

The biggest thing to pay attention to is how much the foilage can increase during those weeks. Birds on the ground that gobble in May will sound farther away than they actually are, especially when you compare them to what they sounded like a few weeks earlier.
