Benelli troubles
I gotta a super black eagle 3 1/2 with a 24" barrell and i got an issue. with federal premium 6 shot at 40 yards it scattered a bit too much. switched to hevi shot # 5 and WOW 40 yards wrapped the target up. at 50 yards not so great. would getting a longer barrell help me out, or do i need to spend 80-100 dollars on a choke for this thing.

RE: Benelli troubles
thanks i tend to agree however it is hard to convince 81 year old grandfather of that, he has a 32" trap on a browning, and at 50 it is still pretty thick. but face it most of your shots will usually be less that 40 yards

I have the Eagle with a 28 inch barrel and wish I had 24! My barrel is too long to sneak.
Your pattern is the same as mine. I use Winchester Suprmemes #4 and 40 yards patterns are very nice. Hevi-shot sucked in mine! I tried it and could not get the pattern any better or more consistent. In fact it was worse.
So why change form what kills.
Choke is .660

RE: Benelli troubles
thanks for the input, i thought the full choke was .650 on the SBE, even if it is a .660 it id tighter than most full chokes. i thought i was at a real disadvantage with the 24 but it sounds like alot of guys have them. hte hevi shot is the bomb i found out about it this year shooting swans and geese.
