Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default 16 gauge

I have a 16 gauge double barrel Stevens that I would like to use for turkeys this year. I've shot 2 turkeys with a 12 and one with a 20 without any problems. Should I use #4's or #6's for the 16?

First thing i would do is go out and pattern it to find out how far you can shoot it. I would be surprised if it would pattern well past 20 yards.

It realy don't matter what guage shotgun you use as long as you pattern the gun before season an know it's limations on that shotgun.

get a couple of boxes of #4 and #6 pattern both barrels wiyh each and pick the one that gets the most in the kill zone.
I shot a 16 that my grandad gave me for years befor I started turkey hunting.it will kill a duck out to 30 yrds.don't know bout a turkey.
just make sure you know it's pattern and it's range.
good luck.
