Default turkey fever

Well i couldn't stand it any more. I had to go look for Tom this morning. I sat down in a clump of oak trees, didnt know where the birds might be. About 7am I heard one gobble behind me then they started flying down not 20 yds. from me, the first two down walked so close by i could have spit on them. Man what a sight! There were 14 birds in all, most of them mature, strutting around, dragging their wings, showin out. I'm not a good judge, but there were a few that had to have 12" beards They goofed around for about 30 mins. before feeding off thru the woods to another pasture. My legs were cramping and my back hurting from playing statue for so long but it was worth it. Its gonna be a good year. Its gonna be a good year i think.

I agree, being from Minnesota, I kind of like the Georgia winter weather. I too have been out scouting looking forward to the March 20th opener. I have seen many tracks and movement. Haven't sat down yet and waited for turkeys, that will be coming towards the end of February. Can't wait for the opener.

I would love to get out here in Pa but it has been in the single digits and teens almost everyday now and we have a ton of snow but can't wait till the weather breaks a little bit to get out at least to pattern my shotgun.

Remedy for turkey fever. Listen to two gobbles and post to us in the morning. Remember. A gobble a day keeps the doctors away.
