Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Banded Turkeys

I have shot some banded ducks, and I know that they band turkeys. I was wondering if anybody has shot one?

I've never killed one, but they banded about 20 birds a few years ago about 3 to 4 miles from my property. My neighboring property owner killed one a few years ago.

Never shot one. I do believe when our state trapped some 90 birds to transfer to another state. They banded several of the longbeards. But never saw one here in n.y.

I took one in Wyoming a few years back. When i sent in the band number it had been banded in South Dakota. Had traveled about 40 miles.

Little bro killed his first bird last year and it was a banded longbeard to boot. A buddy of mine also killed a banded bird two seasons ago. Both were taken on the river bottom of Colorado. They have been working hard on some turkey band data here in CO to see bird movement along the S. Platte.

They had banded quite a few turkeys up here during the stocking program around 4 years ago. I know of no one to date that had shot any banded turkeys. I am sure there will be some getting shot however..

Thanks for the feedback, I am still wondering if they send a certificate about where and when the bird was captured and banded and how far it had traveled from where it was released

They just sent me an email with all the info. Where, when, and why it was banded. I sent them the location of the kill and the band number.
