Jelly Head .660 vs .665
I"m setting up a 870 Express 12 ga. for the spring hunt.
Tons on choke choices and quite honestly, it's confusing to a rookie like me. Any thoughts on which of the above? Any other suggestions on the load choke combo?
Thanks in advance.

If you generally go with a smaller shot size, (#6's), the .660 might work better. The .665 will generally work better with larger shot sizes. I usually shoot lead and use a .665 in my BPS. I get as good or better patterns with #4' 2 oz. loads as with the #6 1 3/4 oz. Too tight a choke can blow your patterns.

extended choke
with all the chokes out it still not an exact science. the barrel is still a big variable. most of the time extended tubes work better because they provide a more gradual constriction of the shot string. and some have a provision to pull the wad back. your factory tube might pattern best and if you don't have either sights or optics on your gun and it isn't patterning where the the bead lines up then the tighter the pattern is the more chance you have of missing, especially at close range. sight in and pattern first then work on the tube.
