Nebraska Merriams
My nephew came up out of the blue during christmas and wants to go hunt merriams in Nebraska. We hunt turkeys in Kansas and Oklahoma every year. Im looking for an unguided hunt. Im willing to pay a landowner to hunt or trade an awesome turkey hunt in Oklahoma. I'm not afraid to hunt on public ground either so literally any info would be appreciated. Thanks...

I went last year, was a "trespass fee" hunt. Tons of birds, probably more gobblers than hens. We shot our limits in 2 days.

I went last year. Hunted two mornings, combined 35 minutes, and had two birds down. My cousin killed her first turkey ever, a merriam jake, and I killed a four bearded Eastern. He was with a big Merriam in full strut, but I couldn't get a shot at the Merriam. Didn't realize the one I shot was an Eastern until I got to him. I have to go back up there now to kill a Merriam sometime. We hunted the eastern part just north of Omaha. There is a little public land around there, but we were on some private land. Its a lot of fun. Just get around a creek or river. If you want to hunt Merriams only you have to go out west. There is a lot of public land around Chadron. The pine ridge is where you want to go. You should be able to find plenty of info on it.
