Scouting tip.....
I' ll let you folks no of a little tip i' ve been using for a few years thats proved invaluable in the turkey woods!Instead of walking all over my turkey woods examining every bit of turkey sign available I try and keep my scouting more towards the low impact side of human intrusion upon my birds.Theres a few ways to go about accomplishing this that i' ll talk about in another post but one of the best ways of gathering information about your birds in establishing patterns both on early season flocks and individual strutters is by using a trailcam!Yes thats right a camera.I use a digital for a # of reasons but mainly it gives me twice the amount of pic' s or more so I dont have to check it near as often. The best part is it can tell me 1.if birds are traveling by this stretch of woods daily2.what time3.identification of birds, hens, gobblers, jakes, etc!!!Turkeys are very patternable as many of us know, and a good trailcam can let you know if there passing by there wether they gobble or not!Give it a try,it works!!!!

Yes,Kits you do have to take theft in consideration even on private grounds.Where you set them up can eliminate alot of this and I would definately suggest a safety cable which comes with a few of the better models. They would have to use bolt cutters to steal it then.Go to www.deercam.com and you can take a look at there safety cable of which I use.
