I have one ear worse than the other, so i don' t get direction very well sometimes. No doubt that subtle sounds are important and if u can pick them up, your ahead of the game. Thanks 4 the heads up anyway

On many occassions I' ve scambled to sit down upon hearing nothing more than footsteps, draggin wings or spit and drum, good advice Bob. Some of my best hunting was hours after sun up on the same birds that didn' t gobble off the roost....nice post Bob and Maytom, sir I agree.

this years' bird never ever gobbled, actually i had 2 or 3 that didn' t gobble...i' d hear scratchin' or see some movement and it was on.........i usually just sit quietly and wait for movement, i could hear trucks diving by and callin' ....no responses, but look who walked out with one....the one actually in the woods...i always stay in the woods til legal hunting hours are just about over, if not over......i know the birds will hush up after awhile usually so i just sit , wait , listen and watch...........
