About 2 weeks ago while out working treestands we bumped a hen off her clutch and the chicks were pecking at their shells. You could hear them peeping. We finished up quick and got outa there, so she would come back.

PA Spring ended in May. These guys look to be on schedule in my neck of the woods.
Strange that you have chicks in May (though not sure when Canada's season ends).
Some states claim spring gobbler starts to late, and I see why after seeing chicks before season??

It's been raining so much this month out here but luckily it hasn't turn cold.
I haven't seen any good size ones like that our way yet but I'm sure they're there.
There are sure lots of insects for them nowadays.
