Finally!!!
This turkey season has been a tough one!!!
When the birds were gobbling good I had hunter interfirence out the ying yang... When the birds werent gobbling they werent gobbling...
I happen to get lucky on may 5th!!! I went to a area that I've killed birds in before and at about 5:40am one goes off about 70 yards from were I'm standing... I make a quick move and set up. The next time he gobbles I'm 40 yards from his roost... Close's I've ever been to a roosted gobbler... Anyhow he only gobbles 4 times and pitch's down and walks right out of the fog and I gave him a few very light yelps and he fans out... Takes two steps and I gave him a couple soft yelps and he stretch's his neck out to see were I was and he got a load of Win HV #5's at about 35 yards... AWSOME public land gobbler... 1 3/8" hooks with a 10.5" rope... My best gobbler to date... I knew when I picked him up he was a limb hanger... And he was!!! Took him straight to the taxidermist...
Sorry BT I didn't get any pic of me standing next to a public land sign
