Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I dont see why not. But is 6 shot striaght lead really enough to take down a tom?
Because hevi-shot will ruin a barrell that's not intended for it.

Turkey loads,(besides hevi-shot) is lead that is copper plated. I promise you that you will kill a turkey with that 20ga. if you use a 3" turkey load in 5's or 6's and limit your shot to about 25 yards. You will have no problem.

I have an H&R that I'm using this year. It has the fixed "full" choke and I patterned the Federal Flight Control #6's with outstanding results. Matter of fact, I was putting the wad through the card board box I was using for a target and 25 yards.

Ohh cool! Glad to hear you are using the flight controls too...are you using the "heavy weight" shells?

Just the regular. Ihave a box of the "hevi-weight", but I've been told by several people that I could not shoot them out of the H&R fixed choke guns. The regular flight-control do just fine!

Here you go. Looks like we can shoot the heavy weight mag-shok, but we can not shoot the ulra-shok out of fixed choke. Good thing is the flight-control wads were designed for fixed choke guns.

I was tearing targets up at 30 yards. Some places you couldn't even count the hits. It was just a hole.

If I was you I would look into that heavy weight #7 for the 20 ga. Federal makes. It was designed only for the 20 ga. Since it's heavy weight your getting the pellet count of 7 shot but the down range energy of 5 shot.

Ok well thank you!

I guess I am just worried that even with the FC wad....with a fixed "modified" choke, will I even get any good results?

You should be fine. Limit your shots to under 30 yards. Do yourself a favor and pattern it with the Federal FC. I think you will be suprised.
