Do turkeys have a sense of smell?
My first real turkey hunt and I' m wondering how worried I should be about a turkey picking up my scent. Should I use the same guidelines as for whitetail deer? Thanks.

You already got your answer but remember that their vision spans about 290% so they can see almost everything that is not directly behind them. The moral is just because he is not looking at you doesn' t mean he can' t see you.

I think I read an article once about a guy on his first Osceola hunt and felt the wind on the back of his neck and panicked. His guide told him..." If turkeys could smell, they' d over-run the world" .
