Default Recoil Pad ?

I just got my new Browning BPS 10 ga. I also have a 870 supermag 12 ga that I am going to keep for a back up gun. I' m not looking forward to putting a bunch of shells through these without some kind of pad. I was wondering if any of you guys have used the recoil pads that strap on your shoulder. If so, what brand and where did you get them?

I use the TroGlo recoil pad on my turkey gun. It realy does help when I' m sighting in the gun or working a new pattern. As far as when I' m hunting I never feel the recoil.

the only recoil pads that I ever use are the ones that come on the guns but I have heard great things about the sims vibration lab. recoil pads and I belive that I will be putting one of those on my turkey gun for next year.

Default RE: Recoil Pad ?

Patterned my gun 2 weeks ago and the black and blue is just starting to fade. I wasn' t happy with the pattern, just got a new choke tube and some add' l loads to check out, and its back to the range in a day or two. I read somewhere to use a life vest instead of using a slip on recoil pad, and just dug one out of my boat to give it a try. I may look silly at the bench, but hopefully it will be less painful and it will definitely save a few bucks. Been lurking on this board for a few days, figured it was time to chime in with my 2 cents....

Welcome, RIStrutstopper!!

Rubidude, I use a PAST recoil pad that straps over my shoulder when I sight in and test loads. It takes a bunch of the sting out of heavy turkey loads and centerfire rifle loads. I believe mine came from www.midwayusa.com/. Hope this helps out.
