My 13 year old son got his first turkey this morning at 6:55a.m. We were hunting the Kansas youth season. We had 8 hens in front of us for over 20 minutes feeding when I saw the 3 more birds coming. They were all jakes. Didn' t think they were ever going to clear some brush right in front of us but they finally headed toward one our hen decoys and he had about a 12 yard shot. I was really proud and so was his grandpa who was with us also.
