Highknob, mine were the " all" hevi-shot load in 4X5X7. I would love to hear from someone who had the economy load with the lead #4' s and #5' s, along with the heavishot #7' s. You would have to think that they would do as good.

IMHO, anyone who tries this load will never use anything else, it' s that good! I get pellet counts in the mid 200' s with it in my guns as well. The funny thing is it patterns good out of just about any choke!

Well Maytom, I made it to the bench today to do some pattern tests. I will have to say that the Nitro 4x5x7hevi econo load did the best of any shell i' ve shot so far. Like you i' m working nights tonight and will do a pellet count tomorrow and report then. TheNitro' s were amazing. All patterns were at 40 yds. I was shooting them from an 835 with Loghman .680 choke. I shot lots of other shells also. The 1 7/8 oz. #6 Rem. Hevi was the next best thing we tried. With the Rem the pattern was more even with the Mossberg Ulti full .695 choke. But the .680 shot well also. The next best load was the Win 2 1/4 oz. #5 with the .680 choke. After that about all the HV Win shot OK and the Fed 2 1/4 oz. #4' s were good also. Guess it' s the Nitro' s for my 835 with the .680 choke and the Rem Hevi #6 with 1 7/8 oz in my wife' s 835 with the .695 choke. I' ll try to get some pellet counts on soon. Oh yea, and my old Win M-12 with 2 3/4 in. 1 5/8 oz 5' s still put enough pellets to kill one at 40 yds. Not bad for a gun built in 1913.

maytom, Last year when I patterned my 2&5/8 oz. #4x5x7 " economy" hevi shot loads from Nitro I was extremely impressed. 367 holes @ 40 yards(measured with a tape measure) in a 10" circle....the stuff is truly amazing.

For any one wondering though I asked the Hevi-shot guys on chokes, becuz i heard they don' t work in all chokes, and he told me that the 670 is the smallest constriction. FYI, don' t wanna see anyone blow up their shotgun.

Trapper, while I agree with your concern as well, this Rhino choke tube that I got was right from Nitro company themselves, they sell them right along with their shotshells. This is the restriction that they recommended for my gun and loads. If you go to their web-site, they mention the many different chokes that can be used with their shot. I got the pellet count on the Nitro 4x5x7 Hevi Econo load that i shot yesterday. The average pellet count in a 10" circle at 40 yards was 282 from my Mossberg 835 with the .680 Loughman choke. They are very impressive. Hope to try them out in about a week and a half.
