This was the toughest season I have had since 2000. The Tennessee birds didn't cooperate at all this year. Everytime I went, the birds were either henned up bad or the weather was horrible. The two birds I hunted on my land were hunted hard by myself and several other hunters on a lease near my property. I was very fortunate to bag one of them. I normally kill 2 or 3 birds a season, but I was sure happy to get the one. Can't wait to go after them next year. I think I may go back to Texas and try for a couple of Rios.

I was not only fortunate enough to fill my tag with a heavy bodied mature bird but my 12 year old daughter tagged 2 longbeards and I also called in my cousins first ever Gobbler so now he's hooked as well. A great season indeed!

Only one for me this season as well. They would gobble on the roost, and when they would hit the ground, they went silent. Nothing better than a hot gobbler than runs into your calls. But that's turkey hunting.
