New to the site....question.......
I am an avid deer hunter & somehwat new to turkey hunting. I am looking for the best site available for general info on turkey hunting. I want to pursue the elusive eastern turkey here in North Florida (about 20 miles from the Ga state line).
I need to know, from beginning to end, exactly what to do upon entering the turkey woods on a spring morning. I know to locate, then set up, etc., but I want details so I do not feel like I am wasting my efforts!
Any info appreciated. We have tons of birds on our farm, and I look fwd to getting after them this spring.
Best of luck to you as you enter the spring turkey woods.

You' ll get a good base of information from the free library at www.turkeyhuntingsecrets.com
After the deer season you will be dreaming of big ol' gobblers.

First off, Welcome, Sweetwater. Lots of good guys here with great information and just the right amount of bullshivick. We look forward to reading your posts.
As for advice on turkey hunting ... Don' t do it. It is very addictive!!!
Do you have a friend that turkey hunts? That would be a great place to start.
Get out in the woods and learn all you can about turkeys and their habits but, ... don' t call one up to you while scouting. Save that for hunting. Locate them with crow or owl calls then TRY to pattern them as best you can. If you can learn their roosting sites and strut zones that will be a great advantage.
The link mentioned above is good to just sit down and start reading.
Good luck and keep us posted.
