Is it over in the South ???
I was wondering if anybody in the south was still getting any good action? The season doesnt end until May 15, but to me it seems like it has come to a hault. I am not hearing any gobbles ( in about a week or so). All I have seen lately is single hens that are nesting. I am sure hunting pressure has something to do with it, but between public land, private property, hunting club, and friend's land I havent put alot of pressure on any one spot.

Right now, everywhere is a tough spot... Its just that time a year when the birds are henned up... everyones breeding... They gobble a little on the roost and shut up when they hit the ground....
Takes some good FALL season tactics to score right now... Or the use of Gobbler decoys.
It will be that way till the hens start nesting up and the birds get lonely...

Still gobbling in VA, although it has definately slowed down. In places with lots and lots of hens gobbling has been shut down for almost two weeks now.
They'll break back loose here in another week or so... then shut up til about the last week of the season.

I'm near the NC/SC border and the birds have been very active. Lots of gobbling and coming into our calls. We are not seeing very many hens in our area mostly Jakes and Toms.
