Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Make sure the choke you get is rated for hevi-shot if thats what you're going to shoot. Lots of chokes are for lead only. Try some 5's and 6's from different manufacturers and in different loads and see what shoots best. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that was a requirement. Is this something that is written clearly on the package of the choke that purchase?

I have limited experience, but the last two choke tubes I bought did indicate they were for lead only on the package. Some are marked right on the tube. If you know what chokes you're interested in, ask here or search online. Someone is bound to know and answer your questions. I'm waiting on my Primos Jelly Head. You can shoot hevi shot thru those.

Will shooting Hevi-shot through a tube that says "lead only" hurt anything?

Just to be clear... If I have a choke tube thatsays lead only and i have ammo that says copper plated lead, i can not shoot it without harming either the choke, barrel or both. Correct?

You can shoot copper-plated lead out of your "lead only" choke but not "heavier than lead" shot like Hevi-13 or other variants.

What mouthcaller said- copper plated is okay, hevi shot is not okay. Some would disagree about the hevi, but I wouldn't chance it.
