Mouth call tips
I could use some mouth call tips from some of your experienced hunters. Ive got some good tips from people in the chat room but would like to see some of the info i get here. i just purchased a new mouth call today from Primos called a limb hanger. Would like to hear from any turkey caller in here who is " tongue tied" . thanks in advance.

Is this the same treedog that' s over on SHF?
Treedog, I' m not very good explaning things, but I' l try.
first, get the call comfortable in your mouth. if it feels to
big, then trim off a little of the tape. won' t hurt nothin.
then press it up against the roof of your mouth with your
tongue, and try saying kee-yawk-kee-yawk, droppin your lower
jaw on yawk. it won' t take you long before your makin good
yelps. for putts, try sayin the word pit, with short tight bursts
of air. hope this helped. told you I wadn' t very good at
explaining things[8D]

Another thing to think about is storage. Place your mouth calls in a call saver container such as the one put out by Knight & Hale. Very similar to a skoal snuff container. This has a piece of foam in it, just add some mouth wash and then place it into the frig!! This will keep your calls moist and prevent the laytex from drying out and sticking together.

RE: Mouth call tips
I found a good place to practice is in the car. I have a tape (Primos) with some instruction and some wild turkeys. I just drive around listening and trying to mock the turkeys. It helps keep things sane at home (beats having my wife send one of the kids down into the basement late at night to see what that noise is). People in other cars probably think I' m crazy (foaming at the mouth or something) but I won' t ever see most of them again.
