RE: some advice needed from veteran turkey hunter
This is a question I have seen asked more often than any other. Technique is a matter of situation, and there are an infinite amount of situations within situations. The best advice I have seen given, to a new turkey hunter, is to hook up with an experienced hunter and get him/her to let you tag along, or get them to do some calling for you. You will hear all sorts of "rules" about turkey behavior, but the one thing is that turkey don't know the rules, they will act completely opposite to what the "rules" say. Sometimes, you can do everything right and come home empty.

...and when you check back in, please type whole words. Some of us don't speak "cellphone text messaging". We're oldschool around here. Took me a good 5 minutes to decypher those 2 little lines you wrote.[&o]

RE: some advice needed from veteran turkey hunter
the best calls for a beginning turkey hunter are box calls, slate calls, or push button style calls. remember, practice makes perfect, so you must put inlots of practice with all types of calls to be a proficient turkey caller. personally i prefer mouth calls for their versatility, realistic sound, and the fact that they can be used with no movement whatsoever. but you shouldbegin withthe calls i mentioned earlier before trying a mouth call, because mouth callsrequirehours ofpractice and alot ofpatience to master. i hope this post answers some of your questions.
