individual turkey to turkey. Ive only chased easterns so far, but they are all different. Ive killed a bird that i swear had a suicide death wish, and ive also called in birds that took all season to finally get a crack at. I should find out within the next year or two just how hard the public land merriams really are.

The hardest one I found to hunt is the one I'm calling in that day.....

Sorry I couldn't resist....

I've hunted them all and I think the Merriams are the toughest... Don't know why but it always takes longer to get them ito come in to the call. Maybe it's just me...

Osceolas and Easterns run hand in hand as being the most difficult, followed by Merriams, and then Rio's. Now that I've said that, I won't kill a Rio this year!!

Easterns, though they are the only sub-species I have hunted but have heard and read that many hunters would agree.

Well, I have hunted only in my area, there are lots of birds, and no hunters. Which makes it very easy for me to hunt these birds, so I really don't know the answer to the question.

I have hunted Easterns for 35 years+ and have Missed Several Seasons of getting both Birds.

I have hunted KS Rio's the last two years and have killed 4 birds the 2 days I hunted and ALL for of them was Doubles. Total was 8 birds 2 hunters, 2 days!

I am like the guy ahead of me. I will probably never get another shotat a Rio.

We are planing to go to NE to get a Merriam. I hate to think of spending all the Money and Time and not getting one. We will have a good time but that's not the point. I have a good time what ever I do.

To show how serious I am. QUESTION: (Is NE and over the counter Tag or a Draw?) I could look it up but it's just easier to ask.
