Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Help: Locator call

I am planning on ordering this callhttp://www.discountturkeysupplies.co...ODUCT_ID=KH502. Has anyone here had good or bad experiences with a hawk call. I know the call doesn't cost much, but I have already spent $100's in my first few years of turkey hunting on worthless crap that all make it to the fire one way or the other *caugh*lonesome hen*caugh*.
Thx in advance.

I havn't tried the Knight & Hale hawk, but have used a Primos one for several years. I have had real good results with it especially midmorning. I'm wanting to get a new one, think it will be the Woodhaven laminated one though. That call just looks right.

Never used a hawk call myself, but seen several birds respond and gobble at hawks over the years.

I tend to shy away from coyote calls for locater calls. In my area anyway, what I've seen/heard is the gobblers clam up when the coyotes hollar. It doesn't last that long depending on how hot they are but this indicated to me not to use the coyote and expect an answer.

Predominantly we concentrate on the Barred owl and crow calls, or simply, turkey calls.

I don't think I will be ordering this call now because I have decided to order my decoys from Bass Pro and I'm not going to pay more for shipping than what the call is worth. Have to find another hawk call to buy, Bass Pro and Cabelas don't carry any.

Does anyone know of a Hawk turkey locator call that is pretty cheap? It has to be from a store that accepts checks or money orders.

Have you tried http://www.wingsupply.com They carry the primos, Knight & Hale, H.S. Strut, Olt and a couple of others. I think they take check or money order since they have a catalog. Just got my new on in the mail yesterday.

Thank's! I ordered a catalog. I didn't see anything about ordering through check or money order online so I just ordered a catalog. I would look through my Midwest Turkey Supply catalog but I have to wear gloves to do that, lol, last time I looked at it I rubbed my eye and got the black stuff (ink) in my eye.
