Swampcollie....
HECK YEAH I'd shoot him this evening!...lol I'll be sitting in the blind I've already moved with my bow!
Seriously....I've heard people say NOT to use a deke when intercepting them going to roost.
Thoughts?

Use it! The worst and I mean worst thing that could happen if you use a deke is that he will ignore it. Thats probably what will happen, but he could come in looking for love. I would give him a few smoochy smoochies on a call, just some soft yelps and gauge his reaction from there. I wouldnt use a jake in the evening just a hen maybe two. Good luck sounds like your in the same situation I am in. Mine always change sides of the river that they are on when I change. Smart birds you can not outguess them. Keep us posted on how it goes!

If you've got a good idea of where he'll be coming from on his way to roost, maybe move further out from roost to intercept him earlier in the evening. I think that would make him want to interact with your decoys more than if they are right at his roosting spot!
