Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Congratulations. I've been waiting for that myself. I live in the middle of the woods and we took 3 gobblers not a mere 200 yards from my house and I've heard birds toward my house when setup below it. I also hear birds from my house when I'm out listening but usually nothing close. This year I was headed back in when some where gobblin just down the trail from the house....I'm still waiting to hear one from bed, it's bound to happen, just a matter of time.

Congrats again.

Don't you just love a hot gobbler!! WTG!!

I went out this morning, since it's NY's last day as well. Got in the woods at 5:00am, waiting for a goodmorning gobble. NOTHING~~~
So I set-up and started cold calling in an area that I seen birds at before.
After approx. 45 minutes, one lone gobble rang out. I figured that #2 is on his way!! Nope, he was with hens and didn't want to show up. Coaxed one more gobbl out of him, but I could see that the hens had him going in another direction. Still sat there for about an hour before making a move to a different spot in this woods. Nothing stirring there either!!!
Went back to the first spot, set-up once again and gave out a few calls.
Nothing!! Time now is 10:30am, and looks like another bust!!
On my way out I spooked three jakes!! Oh well, that's it for 2006 spring season for me!! At least I took one on opening day.

Way to go!

I once shot a deer like that.lol

I was in my house and heard shots, I look out the window and see this buck running across the field. I get my gun put one shell in it and ran outside leaned on a tree and when he stopped to look back dropped him.
